The Global Diamond Initiative (GDI) was founded on a simple belief:
Baseball can be about so much more than the game.
Meet Coach Turner
Founder & Head Coach
Coach Andrew Turner brings 15 years of coaching experience to Global Diamond Initiative, with experience spanning recreational, travel, and international baseball.
Throughout his coaching career, Andrew has focused on developing the entire athlete. While fundamentals, preparation, competitiveness, and baseball IQ matter, he believes some of the game's greatest lessons have little to do with wins and losses.
Work ethic. Accountability. Leadership. Resilience. Respect.
Those principles have shaped his approach to coaching and have become an important part of the foundation of GDI.
Andrew also has a lifelong connection to Italy. His family roots are in Northern Italy, and he began traveling there as an infant, taking his first steps in Italy and returning nearly every summer throughout his life. Italy has never simply been a travel destination for Andrew; it has always been part of his family's story. GDI allowed him to bring that heritage together with his passion for coaching and baseball.
As an international baseball coach, Andrew's goal is not simply to assemble talented players. He looks for young men who are willing to compete, learn, serve others, represent their families and communities with integrity, and become leaders both on and off the field.
Through Global Diamond Initiative, Coach Turner hopes to continue building a bridge between American and Italian baseball, creating opportunities for athletes on both sides of the Atlantic while helping grow the game and the relationships surrounding it.
Baseball. Service. Character. Cultural Exchange.
One game. Two cultures. A greater purpose.
“The game may bring us together,
but what we do with the opportunity is what matters.”
